Two Months

You are two months old today.  You love...your swing, afternoon naps, sucking on your fist, smiling at mommy and daddy, giggling at your farm animals, and video chatting with your grandparents.  You sleep through the night, for between 6 to 8 hours, but you have been doing this since about 4 weeks...you are advanced :)

Your new trick

You have learned a new trick, you much prefer your fist to your pacifier :) And we think you are going for your thumb, but we will have to wait and see. 

Bath time

Big eyes, lots of rolls, and your new trick of sucking on your fist.  You still fit in the kitchen sink for your baths ;)

Grandma says you should "wear your Sunday best." This was dad's attempt at your best ;)

Big night

Last night (2/21/14) was your first night spent in your crib in your room, not in the bassinet next to our bed. It is a big, big step and you handled it like a champ. You went down right away with no fuss and slept for 7 hours. Mommy on the other hand was a mess worrying about you not by her side :(

Our week at Grandma and Grandpa Bank's House

We had such a good time at the beach. Grandma Showed you off to all her friends, we even went to dinner at the club. You had your own receiving line of adoring guests, but you slept through most of it in your car seat. Word travelled fast that you were in town, because the next day your Grandpa was asked if you would be making an appearance at bowling, sadly you didn't make it to the alley ;)

We also had dinner with Grandma's bridge friends Sue (and husband Ed) and Liz (and husband Tom). Grandma and Grandpa cooked a yummy meatloaf dinner.  Sue and Liz brought you some very thoughtful gifts. Sue got you your first Bach bag, monogrammed with your name. It included a bathing suit, sun hat, sun glasses, jellies, and beach toys!  Liz got you some very cute summer outfits.

Despite all the hoopla of visiting we had a nice relaxing time. We went swimming in Grandma's big tub, went for walks, you quilted with Grandma while mommy worked, and we went shopping. But hands down your favorite part of Grandma and Grandpa's house was their collection of ceiling fans. You giggled endlessly at them and Grandpa made sure they were all on, despite it being February.

Your first trip to the beach

Dad had a business trip this week, so we headed south to grandma and grandpa's house for the week. Your grandma and I took you to the beach on a sunny February afternoon. You loved it, you are definitely your momma's daughter ;)

Your Great Aunt Lynn sent you two of Grammy's handkerchiefs, one Christmas themed (for your birthday) and one lavender.  Aunt Lynn wrote a lovely note saying that lavender was Grammy's favorite color, so it was only fitting that we put you in purple to have your photo taken with them.  We added them to your wall of Grammy belongings :)

Your first documented smile

This is a week late, but you smiled at me at 5 weeks exactly.  To be determined if it was because I was standing in front of a ceiling fan (your best friend) or because I was talking to you...either way I captured the moment :)
